DV-CCR Leadership Circle

Leadership Circle is a made up of a group of individuals that have been serving their communities, in one way or another, for years.  They have dedicated themselves to making their community a better place, and they have each set their focus on creating awareness about domestic violence in the Madison area.  These Leadership Circle members bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, and most importantly, passion to the DV-CCR.

Lorena Guimaraens

Lorena Guimaraens is the Bilingual Domestic Violence Advocate at UNIDOS. Part of her role is facilitating the Mujeres Adelante Leadership Group and overseeing the Early Childhood program, Voces Unidas Youth program and the helpline. She can be reached at Lorenag@unidoswi.org.

 

Elsa Gumm
Elsa Gumm is a volunteer Community Response Advocate with Domestic Abuse Intervention Services and also facilitates teen dating abuse workshops with local youth groups. She can be reached at elgumm@gmail.com.

 

Phil Haslanger

Phil Haslanger is a retired minister in the United Church of Christ.  Before he was ordained, he was a journalist working at The Capital Times for 34 years. He is a volunteer with the DAIS Power of One group working on healthy masculinity and he leads workshops on ways faith communities can tackle issues of domestic violence. Ginna Isunza

Ginna Isunza is currently the Housing First Case Manager at the YWCA Madison and recently was a Bilingual Domestic Violence- Sexual Assault Advocate at UNIDOS WI. Ginna has worked with battered women and families for almost 6 years. Her long experience includes legal advocacy, victim empowerment, and facilitating support groups for men and women. Karen Larson

Karen Larson is the Children's Services Manager at Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS), and she is also the chair of the DV-CCR Youth Issues Subcommittee.  She can be reached at karenl@abuseintervention.org

 

Ana Price

Ana Price is the Interim Director of Programs and Services/Statewide Coordinator for Deaf Unity in providing advocacy services for people who experience domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes.  With five years of experience as a victim advocate, Ana oversees the Advocacy program and supervises victim advocates. Ana trains and empowers victim advocates to ensure the clients’ evolving needs are met in an effective manner.  Through her work, Ana also provides training for law enforcement agencies, domestic and sexual assault service agencies, and other professionals on how best to work with Deaf victims. Teri Varney

Teri Varney is a psychotherapist at Family Service Madison and the coordinator of the Anti-Violence programs at FSM. She facilitates Alternatives to Aggression groups (Batterer Intervention Program) and has been working with perpetrators and survivors of domestic violence for over twenty five years.  She can be reached at teriv@fsmad.org.
